Roots Corporation to open seven Ginger-brand hotels by 2010 :
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) subsidiary, Roots Corporation, plans to open seven new hotels under the Ginger hotels brand by 2010. The seven new Ginger properties will launch in Ludhiana , Ahmedabad, Mangalore, Guwahati, Jamshedpur , Pune and Durgapur . The Ludhiana and Ahmedabad hotels will open by December 2008, followed by Guwahati, Mangalore and Durgapur by March 2009. The hotels at Pune and Jamshedpur will be operational by early FY10. The investment per room in the properties will be Rs 1.5 lakh, not inclusive of land costs. Currently, the company has 14 operational hotels across India .

Hotel rates start from an unbelievable Rs 100 per night to few thousand
